About Us

Our History

The NPC Research program was born out of the 2003 Strategic Plan for the association. It was adopted that industry research was one of NPC's primary programs. The concept was to find the best reputable and available third party research entity who could provide honest and factual research on on the problems of today and tomorrow.

After an extensive search of research entities including Universities and Research Centers nationwide, California Polytechnic State University, College of Engineering in San Luis Obispo, California was selected for its outstanding program, faculty and research programs.

The research committee also has voting representation from IPSSA, UPA, and APSP. The NPC appreciates our continued collaboration with our fellow asscoiations.

The NPC Research Committee

NPC's Research Committee has the charge to work with our Cal Poly researchers in defining protocols that support "sound, honest, factual, and realistic, application based solutions for the pool problems." The committee is made up of plasterers, material manufacturers, chemical companies, and service industry members. The NPC research team is led by two distinguished researchers and a petrographer.

√ The NPC Research Foundation is an IRS approved public charity, a 501(c) 3.

√ Funds are restricted to swimming pool related research.

√ Endowment fund has been established to eventually make the center self funding.

√ The 2005 fundraising goal was $350,000. $650,545 was raised.
